This week the Geek Cast crew open with yet another Do Review. We discuss the over saturation of the movie market in terms of comic book movies, and Nic the Necromancer rains on people’s parades. 1. When Geeks and Nerds get together, hilarity ensues.

Not to nitpick, BUT I don’t think the difference between “geek” and “nerd” is merely regional colloquialism. I think there is a discernible difference, I just don’t know what that is. Glad to know dorks are definitely out, though.

Semantics aside, I’m happy to hear I’m not the only person excited for Batman v Superman. My oldest son and I have actually been geeking out on all things DC for the last few months in preparation, reading comics and studying character dictionaries before bedtime, sneaking in the occasional DC-related movie when the wife isn’t looking and, of course, toys. Always toys.

    1. Yeah, I’m juiced for it, too. I think it’s gonna be dope.

Batman: The Animated Series had some cool toys.

Is your boy into the Flash TV show? It’s been pretty great. I hear Supergirl’s pretty good too, although I’ll have to wait for it to come to NetFlix or my beloved local library.

  2. Ry – It’s really neither here nor there, but IMO, Strange is a different character than Stark, or, at least should be written differently. I’m currently getting through his early appearances in Strange Tales. I get some of the areas you highlighted that are similar between the two. Rich and goatee are about as far I go though. I’m sure he’ll develop into a fuller character as I get deeper into his own line, but I’ve taken Strange to be more reserved, academic. Stark’s almost smarmy at times, with his humor, playboy ways, and confidence in his own abilities. Which aren’t bad things. He’s a hell of a character. I just take Strange to be less of a potentially, irritating dick, although I’d love to have a beer with both of ’em. 🙂 I’ll chime back in after another couple dozen issues or so, maybe his development will have changed my idea about this character. Either way, I’m juiced for Benefice Cumberbun to be playing him. 🙂

    1. I’m gonna cede this one to you gomey. With that said the point I think I was trying to make pertains more to the MCU. Downey won’t be the face of it much longer, and I think they are hoping for Breadrefract Canarypatch to become the Tony Stark of phase four and beyond.
