  1. Ok, fellas, I gotta be here to back RB and CJ….

Nico and GCR, you guys can’t keep givin these young pups the business about not knowing old crap and yourselves not having watched Rick and Morty. That sentence was terrible and I’m sure there’s some semantic argument to make as to why my analogy is wrong, but you guys get my point.

Take it from a loyal listener….R&M is fantastic. There’s an episode where they name-check Jan-Michael Vincent! Jan-MICHAEL VINcent!!! It’s good homies, check it out. It’s such a great mish-mash of sci-fi, fantasy, pop-culture riffing, sit-com send-up, you have to watch it. And give it, like, 17 episodes to get going. Ha, JK. This isn’t like that The Wire agrument over on MPW. Watch one or two and you should dig it. And then after that, the show’s inside jokes kick in and there are multiple levels of enjoyment.

Also, CJ, RB…have you guys never seen Airplane! ? Ok, now for my pro-Nico and GCR mini-rant. Look, guys, I know we’re old, but man there was sooo much great stuff pre-2005. You guys should check it out. All of it.

Start with, say Leave It to Beaver and The Andy Griffith Show and then work your way forward. Get on to Sanford and Son and move on to M.A.S.H. Make your way up to Barney Miller and Bosom Buddies. From there you can get to Cheers and then The Simpsons and Ren & Stimpy. There wasn’t really anything better than a night of HBO with their lineup of TaxiCab Confessions, Tenacious D and Mr. Show with Bob and Dave, so do all three of those, even tho TCC was weak, at times, it was a nice trio. I’m sure I’ve glossed over plenty in this whirlwind journey thru fantastic television throughout the ages, and you guys might’ve even seen some of them, but you get the point. This doesn’t even touch on the dramas through the past 50s years (well, maybe M.A.S.H., but that show was the balls on so many levels). 🙂

Holy Spicoli!!! Does Nico get down with something RB says/recommends?!?! I’m marking this down on the calendar. I hope this doesn’t ruin the cage-match, fist-fight you two have scheduled in the parking lot at the meet-up in Sept.

Nice review of Kubo…I’m juiced to see it now. It seems like a Gomez Family special.

    Great ep, fellas!

  2. Oh yeah…

PapaGomez uses ‘your ass hurts’ too. I’m not sure if he got it while in the Navy…that was ages ago…or from some bozo he works with. Either way, he uses it in place of saying, ‘You’re lying, Ralph,’ as in, ‘You’re anal cavity hurts, Ralph, because you’re using it to convey falsehoods to me,’ or ‘You’re talking out your ass, Ralph,’…if he was talking to some bozo named Ralph.

Also, I’ve decided my 70’s MC name will be Teriyaki Shortround.

    Wubba-lubba-dub-dub!!!! 🙂

    1. If it works for PapaGomez, it works for me…just a general rule for life.

I am plagerizing ‘Teryaki Shortround’, just FYI. Combines two of my faves: chicken and slightly racist Steven Spielberg characters.

      TaxiCab Confessions…holy hell.
