Geek Cast Live S3E23: Nic and GCR’s WingFic Adventure

dh020This week, we’re joined by the incomparable KTR and the inconceivable Chris Dalby, admins both of THE Song of Ice and Fire Group on Facebook. After discussing the merits of Bratzi’s, the crew rips Game of Thrones a new one using sharp wit and wry humor. I just said two things that mean the same thing. Enjoy! (For WingSlashFic click here)

  1. Yo, yo, yo, fellas….

Anyway to put links to the Do-Review in the ep’s notes? Any available links to what people have been geekin’ on would be dope too. Sounds like there were some gems this week, but my hairy, old ears didn’t quite catch all of it.

    Just some thoughts…. 🙂

I’ve put down the Dark Towers series (awesome, BTW)…and am going to try to double-time it through the ASOIAF books to get ready for whenever Winds of Winter comes out. It should be fun.

Possible show suggestion….an episode where you all give your thoughts/recommendations on books, specifically the fantasy genre. It seems like you’d all have a good deal to talk about and mention. Then, if there’s seems to be enough that you’d all have, get down on some sci-fi, msytery, thriller, spy or whatever other genre you’d all have dope recs for. Just some other thoughts… 🙂

Was just in Peshtigo for some river-fun. Anytime I get up to WI, it’s a blast. Nico, any recs on decent supper clubs? Seems like a thing to do while up there.

Anyway, great episode, fellas…..from what I could hear of it.

JK …..I couldn’t hear any of it. 🙂

    1. ‘Supper Clubs’ in WI (or anywhere) are a risky prop now a days…a lot of them and their menu’s have been locked in cryo since about 1971. But it’s hard to wrong with a Friday night fish fry. Door County is probably my favorite spot in WI, and the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek is the spot. The Buckhorn in Milton is a fav supper club of my in-laws, and the Central Waters Brewery and the Hilltop in Stevens Point are top notch.

We are trying to work more book talk into the show, but I like your idea of book reviews. We’ve recommended (and guest recommendations) more lately in the Geekery…but we can/should do better. Literature needs a louder voice. Thanks,

      Nico
